life and other plans, revisited

So there I was, full of ideas about how the next week, month, year was going to go when life, once again, happened, and I found myself tucked into an air ambulance with my newly diagnosed diabetic son in critical condition en route to UCSF.

It was utterly terrifying. And yet, thanks to the immediate outpour of love and support from family and friends, and the fact that as traumatic as Nick’s diagnoses was, diabetes is something treatable, I never lost sight of how lucky we are.

What a head trip of a week it’s been.
