Good advice: Don't break more than one law at a time

Couple of posts on other blogs reminded me of some good advice I received once from a certain elected official: Don’t break more than one law at a time.

See, this guy got busted, while this guy did not.

How often is someone busted for speeding, drunk driving, hauling drugs, etc., because they were also weaving, speeding, talking on a cell phone, had expired registration, etc.? But if you’re only doing one of those things,  you’re 1.) a lot less likely to get pulled over; 2.) a lot less likely to get busted on another charge – because you’re only doing one thing wrong! Look, if you’re transporting several pounds of pot, don’t speed! Don’t drive on a suspended license! Don’t drive a car with a headlight out! And if you’re in one of those situations, don’t be carrying a bunch of drugs in the car! Sheesh.

One law at a time, folks. One law at a time.
