Rain-soaked day captured with the lousy iPhone camera.

Ten surfs in 3 months. Not a good average so far, but we’re coming out of winter, so plenty of hope left for the year. In fact, after Wednesday’s surf, plenty of hope left period. You can’t find yourself sitting in the ocean as a rainbow breaks across the cove, so rich with color that it overshadows the landscape behind it, both ends of said rainbow clearly landing square on either side of the beach. I never would’ve guessed I’d find gold in such a classic desperation-surf location, but the fun had on those unruly waves proved again that sometimes it’s not what the ocean serves up, it’s what you make of what you’re given.
